Ever wanted to know what it takes to design costumes for some of the biggest TV shows and movies? I.A.T.S.E. Union Local 892 Costumer Designers Guild has put together a panel of experts to fill you in. Panelists include Kristin Burke, costume designer (Sleepy Hollow); Brigitta Romanov, assistant costume designer (Glee); Gina Dedomenico, costume illustrator (Godzilla); and Cate Adair (VP, Costume Designers Guild Local 892 Union), as well as Eddie Marks (Western Costume Company), Celia Sedwick Rogus (creative director, FIDM Film & TV Costume Design Advanced Study Program), and Shane Mahan (co-founder of Legacy Effects). HBO Presents the Comic-Con International 2014 Masquerade
2014 marks the 40th Comic-Con Masquerade, and Ballroom 20 becomes a theater as fabulous original and re-created costumes crafted by our talented attendees are showcased on stage before an audience of thousands, with impressive awards and cash prizes bestowed on those deemed most outstanding by the guest judges. Doors will open for audience seating at 7:45, but the line will start much earlier. Tickets are required for seating and will be given out free to those lining up near Ballroom 20 beginning at 2:00 Saturday. Any tickets left over will be available at the Masquerade Desk near Ballroom 20 later in the afternoon. The Masters of Ceremonies will once again be writer/artists and Girl Genius creators Phil Foglio and Kaja Foglio of Studio Foglio. Intermission entertainment will feature the impressive Saber Guild performance group. Ballroom 20 (with overflow seating available in Rooms 5AB, 6A and in the Sails Pavilion; tickets not required for overflow areas)

Resin Casting and Silicone Moldmaking
Jeffrey Broz (Matrix Enterprises) has presented eight previous seminars about resins and casting. Sam Girgis (Biggerbox Models) is producing large-scale garage kits. Whether you want to produce a garage kit model, mold your sculpture, or reproduce a Steampunk part for your vintage costume, this year's seminar will cover new material choices and tips from previous seminars about complex silicone mold design and casting techniques including rotational molding. Learn from their pitfalls with short run 3D duplication, garage kits, and industrial design. This year, they will also talk more about vendors, guides, and material choices to cast your sculptures or models.
